About Our On-Screen Design Tool
We are excited to bring you our long-awaited proprietary, On-Screen Design Tool. This tool allows you to completely personalize your caricature or portrait scene on screen yourself. This tool puts the personal in personalized! It also serves as a proof of your design, as we will create your snow globe or Christmas ornament directly from your artwork.
Please note that our On-Screen Design Tool is still in beta. It is at a point that it is stable for release, but you may experience a glitch here or there. Should you come across any hiccups it that is pertinent to your order, please make sure to make a note in the "Notes for the Designer" or in the "Order Notes" section at checkout - or contact us. Also, please note that we review each order, so if anything looks amiss we will reach out to you before we release your order for production.
A few points worthy of mentioning are that scenes with a skin tone selection, (about 98% of our cartoon caricatures and portraits), you must select a skin tone before you can begin customizing your scene. If you need mixed skin tones, i.e., one character with light and another with dark skin tone, you cannot do that with the On-Screen Design Tool, though if you make a note in the "Notes for the Designer" section we can do it for you. In this case, please proceed with your personalization exactly as you'd like it and leave us a note to alter the skin tone. Don't forget to tell us which character needs the different skin tone!
Next, after you select a hair color, different hair styles will appear in a sliding window. Once you select the hair style you'd like to appear, it will appear on the scene artwork (picture you are personalizing). Click on the hairstyle and drag it to the character that you want to add it to. You can resize hairstyles (and other scene elements) by using the corner adjustment dots.
If you do not select a hair color your caricature will have the default "stick figure" hairstyle. On scenes where a hairstyle is mandatory, the field will be marked as such, and the personalization form will not let you proceed to add the item to your cart until you select one.
Much like the hairstyles mentioned above, the name and text fields work the same way. Simply enter your name or text into the appropriate field and then size it accordingly. You can also opt to set an exact font size if you'd as opposed to using the corner adjustments dots, if prefer.
You are not required to add text to all the text boxes in the scene. We add as many areas as possible for you to include text, but you do not have to fill every section. The only required text is the center box, usually at the bottom of the scene, as the scene will look like something is missing if that box is left blank. However, you can always put the year or something else in that field if you'd like.
Last, you are welcome to include pets if you'd like! Our pet clipart is vast and there is no charge for adding pets, however, because we have so much pet artwork, we are not able to include them on the personalization form. It simply bogs the form down so much that you could quite literally take a power nap waiting for your choices to load. For that reason, we have text fields that we ask you to enter the pet number & file name into, so we can add the pets for you. If there is something unique or unusual about your pet, for example, you select a Poodle that happens to be 100lbs and his back is waist high, please mention this in the "Notes for the Designer" field, so we can size him appropriately. Also, if you want your pet(s) positioned in certain places on the scene, perhaps next to a specific character or off in the distance, please make note of this as well.
Finally, if you do not see a clipart that matches what you are looking for, make a note in the "Notes for the Designer" field. We have thousands of animal clipart, including farm animals and reptiles, they are just not all on our site. We will root around in our files and do our best to match the animal(s) that you describe (or match a photo of the animal, if you send us a picture).
